Technical Q&A Session: Due to the recent changes that have been announced for the upcoming competition season, we are pleased to announce that Ms. Denise Williamson, Member of the National Technical Committee, will be hosting a Q&A session regarding the new rules pertaining to how the Technical Specialist is required to call an event. There will be two sessions one offered on Friday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm and one on Saturday 8:00am to 9:00am. Please Note: This session is open to Coaches and Students Only. The room location will be posted shortly

This list is subject to change, if you are not listed as a competitor in a listed event(s) please contact the Registration Chair. Practice Ice: The Baltimore Figure Skating Club will offer practice ice to competition participants on a first come first served basis. These sessions are limited to 25 skaters per session and are offered at $15.00 per session for those who register by the application deadline June 19th, 2010 and $20.00 per session for those who register after the application deadline or once they arrive at the competition. 2010 Chesapeake Open Practice Ice

Additional practice ice is offered on Thursday (Resor Rink) and Friday (Logsden Rink) prior to the start of the competition in each rink by The Gardens Ice House. Please contact the rink directly for more information regarding scheduled times.

Competition Protocols: Please note: Competitors will still receive their individual protocol sheets, but we will not be supplying complete event protocols to individual competitors. Instead complete event protocols will be posted on our website by July 3rd.

Planned Program Content Forms: If you are registered for an IJS event at this year's event, you are required to complete the Planned Program Element form online at http://www.usfigureskating.org. This form can be found in the Members Only section of the US Figure Skating website.

Go to online event registration > event manager > program content > 6/24/10 16th Annual Chesapeake Open> add new form.

Planned Program Element forms must be completed by 6/10/10.

ISU Rule Changes: This year's competition will be run in accordance with USFS Technical Notification 60. .

Junior/Senior Original Dance: Please note, if you are registering for this year's competition the Jr/Sr OD will be offered as an exhibition event and critiqued judged under the proposed rules of the ISU's proposed new dance requirements.

USFS Rule Changes: This year's competition will be run in accordance with USFS Technical Notification 60. To view a list of the changes of USFS Rule changes that were approved at the 2010 Governing Council and went into effect on June 1st, 2010 click here.

Dance Events: Please note as stated in the competition announcement, the 2010 USFS Sectional Dances will be skated at this year's competition. They are the following:

Novice Dance - American Waltz & Paso Doble
Intermediate Dance - Rocker Foxtrot & European Waltz
Juvenile
Dance - Willow Waltz & 10-Fox

ISU Technical Dance Seminar: Once again, the Chesapeake Open will host an Ice Dance Technical Seminar with National Technical Specialist Stephanie Segien on Sunday June 27th, 2009 from 7:30 am till Noon. Space is limited, please click here to download an registration form.

(We are sorry to announce that due to reasons beyond her control Mrs. April Sargent-Silverstein is unable to attend this year's event. We are proud to announce that Ms. Segien has agreed to attend this year's event and participate in this year's seminar. For those who are not familiar with Ms. Segien, she was the Assistant Technical Specialist at the 2010 National Championships on the Senior and Novice dance events and the Technical Specialist for the Junior dance event.)

2009 Chesapeake Open Official Hotel: The Official Hotel for the 2009 Chesapeake Open is The Comfort Inn Capital Beltway and is located 2 miles away for the Gardens Ice House. Rooms have been reserved for the competition at a group rate of $89 per night.
