The 2008 Chesapeake Open

Please Note: Due to reasons beyond our control once again this year’s competition will be held at the Gardens Ice House, in Laurel Maryland. The Baltimore Figure Skating Club would like to thank the Gardens Ice House and the Gardens FSC for their support.

This year's event will be held during the week of June 26-29, 2008 and will be held at the Gardens Ice House, in Laurel Maryland. This year's competition will has added a wide variety of new events such as a Basic Skills Competition, individual spin and jump events, along with a complete offering of "IJS" events.

More information will be posted shortly, so please be sure to check our website for future updates.

Planned Program Content Forms: If you are registered for an IJS event at this year's event, you are required to complete the Planned Program Element form online at http://www.usfigureskating.org. This form can be found in the Members Only section of the US Figure Skating website.

Go to online event registration > event manager > program content > 6/26/08 14th Annual Chesapeake Open> add new form.

Planned Program Element forms must be completed by 6/13/08.

Permission to Compete and Waiver Form: Please note that due to an oversight, this years application did not include the Club Permission and Medical Waiver form. Therefore please be sure to complete the form and include it with your application.

ISU Rule Changes: Please note that any charges made during the ISU's upcoming General Meeting will be in effect at this year’s competition.

USFS Rule Changes: Please note any charges made during the US Figure Skating's Governor's Counsel will be in effect at this year’s competition.

Senior Dance: Please note that due to recent changes that occurred at US Figure Skating's Governing Counsel this year's Senior Dances will be changed to the Viennese Waltz and Paso Doble.

Junior Dance: Please note that due to recent changes that occured at US Figure Skating's Governing Counsel this year's Junior Dances will be changed to the Starlight Waltz and Paso Doble.

Novice Dance: Please note that due to recent changes that occured at US Figure Skating's Governing Counsel this year's Novice Dances will be changed to the Blues, and Paso Doble.

Event Schedule: This year's event schedule will not be mailed, but will be posted 14 days following the close of entries.

2008 Chesapeake Open Official Hotel: Due to the change in event location, we have changed our official hotel for this years competition to the Holiday Inn, Laurel West, 15101 Sweitzer Lane, Laurel, MD 20207 (301.776.5300).
